Along with the other updates here at the Homestead, we have been working in our mercantile- specifically on our work surface. The countertop was in need of some tender love and care. The wood was becoming very dry and difficult to wipe down well, and that just wouldn't do!
We've taken the time to sand down our work area and refinish it with a small amount of stain, and a nice thick layer of new shiny polyurethane. Now it will easily stand up to being thoroughly cleaned, and guess what? It looks great too!
Next time you are up here you may also notice that we have re-coated the wood floors. It's been a whole lot of work, but the end result is going to be amazing, and we can't wait to share it with you all!
